JOIN BRAVE

Practice independently, not alone.

A practice home for therapists in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Brave is an established private practice in downtown Grand Rapids, MI. Clinicians who join Brave practice with a high level of autonomy while still benefiting from shared infrastructure, referrals, and the support of an established practice environment.

What you don’t have to build from scratch is everything around the work: the office, the brand, the website, referrals, and intake support.

WHAT’S INCLUDED

More than an office

Listing on the website

Your bio and specialties featured on our therapist page, where prospective clients are actively looking.

A move-in ready office

Furnished private space in our downtown suite. Wifi, parking, and a shared waiting room are handled.

A brand to practice under

Brave is a name people recognize here. You don't have to spend years building one of your own.

Intake support

Our intake coordinator, Becky, handles initial inquiries and routes potential clients to you based on fit. While no practice can guarantee referrals, Brave receives ongoing inquiries and works to thoughtfully connect prospective clients based on fit and availability.

Thoughtful colleagues nearby

Independent practice without the isolation. Brave offers a calm, collaborative environment where clinicians can consult organically, share referrals, and work alongside thoughtful colleagues without heavy meetings or micromanagement.

Full clinical autonomy

No required meetings. No imposed fee structures. No caseload minimums. Your practice is yours.

WHO BRAVE WORKS FOR

Maybe you

Brave works well for clinicians who:

  • Are licensed and ready to see clients independently (LMSW, LPC, LMFT, LP, or equivalent)

  • Want to run their own practice, but don't want to build a brand and referral pipeline from scratch

  • Prefer autonomy over their schedule and clinical work, with light-touch infrastructure around them

  • Are early in private practice or well-established. Both are welcome here.

We don't require a specific theoretical orientation, client population, or fee structure. We do care that you're someone who shows up well for clients and represents Brave with the same care we do.

Many clinicians who join Brave are transitioning into independent practice for the first time, rebuilding after burnout in larger systems, or looking for a more sustainable way to work.

Some arrive with full caseloads already established. Others grow gradually over time through referrals, Psychology Today, and our intake process. We care more about steady, sustainable practice-building than rapid growth or hustle culture.

HOW IT WORKS

Two paths to join Brave

PRIMARY PATH

Fee Split

Most Brave clinicians work on a fee split arrangement. You see clients while Brave helps support the parts of practice that happen outside the therapy room.

This model works well for clinicians who want autonomy while reducing the pressure of building every part of private practice alone.

ALSO AVAILABLE

Independent Practice Option

Some clinicians prefer the predictability of a flat monthly rate, especially if they have an established caseload and want to keep 100% of their fees.

Flat rent options are available by tier (1 day/week through full-time). Specifics are discussed during a tour or consultation.

Some clinicians work fully in-office, while others maintain hybrid or remote schedules depending on their practice needs and location.

SETTLING IN

The commitment

We ask for an initial 6-month commitment. We want our suite to feel settled, not transactional. Six months is enough time to actually get a feel for how the work flows here before deciding what's next.

If you're newly independent and a 6-month commitment feels like a lot, ask us. We're willing to talk about what makes sense.
