Hi, I’m Jessie Kopmeyer, LMSW

Therapist | Perinatal Mental Health & Anxiety | You're Not Alone in This

Feeling overwhelmed is a great place to start. We'll take it from there.

I'm one of the few therapists at Brave who specializes in perinatal and postpartum mental health, a season that can feel isolating and overwhelming in ways that are hard to explain to people who haven't been through it.

About Jessie

Pregnancy and new motherhood are supposed to feel like the happiest time of your life. Except sometimes they don't. Sometimes they feel isolating, overwhelming, and nothing like what you expected. If you've ever thought "I should be grateful right now" while feeling anything but, that's exactly the kind of thing we can talk about.

I specialize in supporting women through the perinatal season, pregnancy, postpartum, and the identity shifts that come with becoming a mother. I also work with anxiety, body image, binge eating, and that persistent feeling of not being good enough no matter how hard you try.

A lot of my clients come in carrying guilt and shame they've never said out loud. About their mental health, their relationship with food, their experience of motherhood. We'll work through that together, at your pace, without judgment.

What It's Like to Work With Me

Warm, honest, and a little chatty. I make no apologies for that last one. Sessions with me feel collaborative and real. I'll sit with you in the hard moments and I'll also help you notice patterns and build practical tools for change. We'll laugh sometimes too, because that's part of it.

My clients often describe leaving sessions feeling like they have someone genuinely in their corner. That's exactly what I'm going for.

  • "Just take the risk. Honestly. Making that first call can be the bravest thing you do all week. Keep an open mind about the process and what's possible. As Ted Lasso would say, “be curious not judgmental.”That goes for yourself too."

  • "Perinatal mental health is my passion. Pregnancy, postpartum, and the enormous identity shift that comes with motherhood. I also work with anxiety, body image concerns, binge eating, perfectionism, and shame. If you're a woman who's trying to learn how to trust yourself again, that's my favorite kind of work."

  • Aetna, BCBS, BCN, Priority Health, and United Healthcare.
